1. N.C WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT

1.0 Aim of the Course

The course is designed to develop a wildlife practitioner with knowledge, skills and attitudes required to satisfy the needs of the Wildlife Management and related industries. Please note some courses from National Foundation Certificate will be repeated since not all students enrolled into National Certificate will have gone through the National Foundation Certificate and it also a requirement of the Ministry.

1.1 Objectives of the Course

At the end of the course the graduate should be able to:-

  • Describe basic wildlife management principles;
  • Explain the basic principles of tourism management;
  • Explain organizational and management skills;
  • Demonstrate administration and budgetary control;
  • Explain the ecological process principles and concepts;
  • Observe, record data and analyze it, conduct basic experimental work;
  • Demonstrate  patriotism to national issues;
  • Demonstrate a critical, logical and objective approach to problem solving at the workplace;
  • Implement health and safety regulations at the workplace;
  • Acquire and implement entrepreneurship skills in the community;
  • Display an understanding of paramilitary and law enforcement;
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain infrastructure;
  • Acquire and develop introductory computer skills.

TIMETABLE AND DURATION

This is a one-year programme.  The programme runs from January to December for one academic year.  Mode of Study is Full Time

2.0 Aim of the Course

3. National Certificate in INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (I.T)

3.0 Aim of the Course

The purpose of the qualification is to build the knowledge and skills required by learners in the Information Technology industry.

It is intended to empower learners to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required to operate
confidently in the computing environment in the Zimbabwean and international community and to respond to the challenges of the economic environment. The National Certificate in IT, is intended for learners already employed or new learners entering the workplace, requiring End User Computing and programming skills. The unit standards of this qualification may be added to other industry qualifications to provide an End User Computing focus with comparison, choice, interpretation and the application of knowledge

3.1 TIMETABLE AND DURATION

This is a one-year programme.  The programme runs from January to November for one academic year. Students may also attend these modules over a longer period of time to suit their own needs. Mode of Study is Full Time
